Founded in 2020 in Seoni, a predominantly rural district of Madhya Pradesh, Margik Foundation began with a dual objective of environmental and biodiversity conservation and community empowerment. From the beginning, it recognised that conservation becomes more effective when local communities — particularly women and young people — are given knowledge, skills, and meaningful opportunities to participate.2020 में सिवनी, मध्य प्रदेश के एक गांव-देहात वाले जिले में मार्गिक फाउंडेशन की शुरुआत हुई। शुरू से ही फाउंडेशन का मानना रहा है कि जंगल बचाने का काम तभी सफल होता है जब गांव के लोग, खासकर महिलाएं और युवा, इसमें साथ दें और उन्हें हुनर व मौके मिलें।
The Foundation initially focused on environmental awareness and community-based conservation, conducting the Anubhuti Programme, a flagship initiative of the Madhya Pradesh Forest Department, alongside plantation drives, environmental awareness programmes, and micro-plan preparation across several districts of Madhya Pradesh. Its engagement with Joint Forest Management Committees (JFMCs) gradually expanded to include forest fire prevention, sustainable minor forest produce collection, bamboo regeneration, and community participation in forest management.शुरुआत में फाउंडेशन ने पर्यावरण जागरूकता और जंगल बचाने पर काम किया — वन विभाग के अनुभूति कार्यक्रम, पौधरोपण और वन प्रबंधन समितियों के साथ मिलकर। बाद में इसमें जंगल की आग रोकना, बांस उगाना और वन संसाधनों की सुरक्षा भी जुड़ गई।
Recognising the economic challenges faced by rural communities, the Foundation also initiated livelihood and skill-development programmes. Women were trained in tailoring, beauty and salon services, and other income-generating activities, while rural youth were trained in driving, mobile phone repair, computer skills, and other vocational trades — alongside awareness programmes on sanitation, health, and sustainable resource use.गांव के लोगों की आर्थिक तंगी को देखते हुए फाउंडेशन ने रोजगार और हुनर सिखाने के कार्यक्रम भी शुरू किए — महिलाओं के लिए सिलाई और ब्यूटी पार्लर, और युवाओं के लिए ड्राइविंग, मोबाइल रिपेयर और कंप्यूटर की ट्रेनिंग।
Over time, the Foundation broadened its social outreach to include women's safety, youth engagement, and the promotion of a drug-free society — launching large-scale awareness campaigns in collaboration with the Madhya Pradesh Police and working closely with the Seoni District Police on community outreach.समय के साथ फाउंडेशन ने महिला सुरक्षा और नशा मुक्त समाज पर भी काम शुरू किया — मध्य प्रदेश पुलिस और सिवनी जिला पुलिस के साथ मिलकर जागरूकता अभियान चलाए।
The Foundation's sustained efforts have earned recognition at the Madhya Pradesh state level, and three times at the Seoni district level — encouraging it to continue expanding its work at the intersection of conservation, livelihoods, women's empowerment, and community development.फाउंडेशन के काम को मध्य प्रदेश राज्य स्तर पर और सिवनी जिले में तीन बार सम्मान मिल चुका है, जिससे फाउंडेशन को संरक्षण, आजीविका, महिला सशक्तिकरण और सामुदायिक विकास के काम को और आगे बढ़ाने का हौसला मिला है।
